Columbus City Councilman Michael Stinziano

1. Do you believe that water pollution is a real problem in the world and has serious adverse effects on wildlife and human life?
(Yes?) The effects of water pollution are well researched and well documented.
2. Do people actually use the Storm Drain Marker Program? I'd never heard of it until I started researching and I've lived here for a long time.
*Sent an email, waiting to hear back
3. European cities are becoming greener and greener. Copenhagen, Denmark, was voted European Green Capital in 2014. I think one of the reasons why is because they educate their citizens. Should Columbus make more programs like Greenspot? Should Columbus tell people about Greenspot (I had never heard of it)?
I am open to proposals regarding how to better educate our citizens about the importance of environmental protection.
Greenspot currently has approximately 17,000 members, and I hope to continue to encourage community members to
support environmental protection through programs like this.
4. Is Columbus' impact on the environment something that the City Council takes into consideration which making decisions?
Possible Response:
Certainly. None of our policies are intended to purposefully harm or abuse the environment, and we hope to
continue being environmentally conscious when making decisions.
5. Sweden has passive houses, which are living spaces heated by body heat and solar power. Since Columbus is a rapidly growing city, is Columbus trying to build greener houses/apartments?
Columbus encourages residents to always be environmentally conscious and provides recycling collection. Through the
Green Columbus Fund, the City supports the (re)development of environmentally-friendly buildings. We also encourage
property owners to pursue financial assistance from federal programs that support the maintenance and effective
utilization of clean energy like PACE (Property Assessed Clean Energy). A few privately owned construction companies
also build energy efficient homes for residents.

Political Activist Hannah O'Sullivan

Hannah Eigerman O'Sullivan is the mother of one of my friends who is an avid political activist. I reached out to her after learning that she's been an activist for many years and has been doing her own research on issues rather than learning through social media and word of mouth.
I wanted to know if she is educated and what it's like being an activist and seeing the effects of protesting and contacting government officials and I learned that political activism and contact local, state, and federal governments actually works.
